An out-of-court settlement is an agreement reached by a couple without the need of a Judge deciding the outcome in a divorce. Settlements can be reached through negotiation with one legal professional advising both parties jointly, or through mediation. The main advantages are greater control over the outcome, reduced costs and faster resolution compared to a litigated divorce.
