What is a financial remedy order?
A Financial Remedy Order is a court order that determines how finances, property, and other assets should be divided where a couple cannot reach an agreement themselves following divorce or dissolution.
The Judge’s decision contained in the Financial Remedy Order is final and can only be challenged in limited circumstances such as where the Judge made a mistake in applying the law to the facts of the case.
The aim of a Financial Remedy Order is to achieve a financial settlement that is fair to both parties, and allows them to move on with their lives independently.
