Taking a child on holiday after divorce.

To take a child on holiday after a divorce or dissolution you will need the following documents:

A letter of parental consent for the child to travel signed by all the parties that hold parental responsibility. Whilst not strictly necessary, a notarised letter ensures the authenticity of the document and can prevent issues with immigration authorities.

If parental consent was not provided, you must be able to provide a sealed Court Order that allows you to remove the child out of the country for that holiday such as a Specific Issue Order or a Child Arrangements Order showing the child resides with you.

You must also be able to provide proof of your relationship to the child by way of a birth or adoption certificate, and the child’s passport.

You should also have copies of travel documents such as travel reservations and proof of accommodation.
