How do you end a civil partnership?

Ending a civil partnership is very similar to ending a marriage. To end a civil partnership in England and Wales, you must have been in the civil partnership for at least one year. The only ground for ending a civil partnership is that one or both parties must consider the partnership to have irretrievably broken down. The process to dissolve the civil partnership can be done on a single or joint basis. If both parties cooperate, the civil partnership can be dissolved within 6 to 8 months from start to finish.
