Can I date during a divorce?

The legal concept of adultery no longer exists since the introduction of no-fault divorce. If you consider your marriage to have irretrievably broken down and there is no chance of reconciliation, there is no reason why you should not start dating. You should however we aware of practical considerations. If you cohabit with a new partner or plan to do so in the near future – you should disclose this, and it may affect the divorce financial settlement. By all means date, but don’t cohabit until the divorce is fully completed.
