What is a clean break financial order?
A clean break financial order is a legally binding document used to finalise financial arrangements following a divorce or dissolution. The aim of the order is to sever all financial ties between ex-spouses or civil partners by dismissing all future financial claims.
Once a clean break financial order is approved by a court, neither spouse or civil partner can make any future claims on the other’s income, property, pensions, inheritances, or other assets. This is the clean break, and all financial connections are cut.
