Taking grandchildren abroad.

If a grandparent wishes to take their grandchild abroad, they will need parental consent from everyone who has parental responsibility for the child before taking them out of the country. Getting permission from only one parent is not sufficient.

It is recommended that permission to travel is provided by a letter of consent signed by both parents.

This letter should contain the names of the child and grandparents’, the destination, travel dates, emergency contact details, and attach a copy of the child’s birth certificate.
