Do financial claims after divorce expire?
Financial claims after divorce do not have any expiry date. Unless you have a court-approved financial order – financial claims are still alive.
The only exception to this, is if you have remarried. Remarrying without first finalising a financial settlement, prevents a divorced person from being allowed to make financial claims against their ex.
If neither party has remarried after divorce, either party can make a financial claim years, or even decades later.
